AFG Weekly 03/04

Welcome to our AFG Weekly article series!

Every week I’ll be catching up with players from our team to bring you some info and tips from our players! We are looking to do a reader replay review each week as well. If you’d like a chance to have your replay reviewed by our team please direct message us a link to your replay on twitter @AFlightGaming.

Patch Thoughts

dragonrider: Honestly a bit worried just removing locusts won't be enough. There are still multiple other damage spells that will have a higher chance to be discovered with something being removed.

Itachi: Locusts didn't seem that problematic to me. But I guess maybe the critical mass of damage cards was hit.

Doctorfeesh: I think taking out LOCUSTS from Kazakusan is a nice balance adjustment to the treasure pool. I think this nerf patch is net positive for how polarizing Kazakusan decks are and will likely continue to be until rotation hits and possibly going forward.

BitBeaker: I haven’t enjoyed the meta since the patch and have been focusing on other endeavors until the next release.

The Team

Our fearless leader, dragonrider, has been smashing faces with Doomhammer Shaman as of late and has been practicing a slew of decks to prepare for some upcoming casting. She reminds everyone “your mindset really is the biggest tool that you have and can make the difference in so many ways!” She’s also been revisiting Heroes of Might & Magic V with her husband. It has local co-op and lets her enjoy other media while waiting for her turn to come back around.

Itachi has been playing lots of Kazakusan Warrior in standard and enjoying a variety of wild decks where he’s been having most of his fun! He does want to remind everyone to read the trigger for Kazakusan and remember that Mutanas tech you haven’t drawn does shut it off (among other non-dragons). He’s also been spending a lot of time with family and taking great care of himself.

Doctorfeesh has been playing Kazaksuan Warrior in standard and Beast Druid in wild. He’s also shaking off the rust on his Wave Race 64 speedrunning and already achieved 2 new personal bests which both land 2nd on their respective leaderboards!

BitBeaker has taken a bit of a break from Hearthstone but continues to clear his quests to keep working on his EU and Asia collections. He has been diving deeper in D&D and has plans to write adventures for Adventurer’s League (it is a standardized D&D system that allows players to take their characters from GM to GM).

Weekly Question

This week I asked what other hobbies our players have outside of the digital space! dragonrider: Board/Tabletop Games!

Itachi: I thoroughly love basketball. I tried once to set up a Hearthstone basketball game at a Masters Tour but then COVID hit.

Doctorfeesh: My favorite hobby outside of the digital sphere is disc golf. It is such a great avenue to have fun with exercising and being outside.

BitBeaker: I love to play music and sing. When I was in the Seattle area I was the front man of a band for awhile. One of my favorite places we performed was called El Corazon that hired some of the best bands from the 90s like Pearl Jam, Soundgarden, Alice In Chains, and Nirvana.

See you next week! Remember the plan. Biggest minion, all face.
