What was AFG and it's members up to during April? Overall, it was a heavy competition month for the team with many players attended and competing at various game tournaments throughout the month. We also celebrated two AFG birthdays, with Azalea's birthday on April 16th, and ThisWeekinHS celebrating his birthday on April 28th. But there was so much more than just general competition and birthdays! Let's dive in.

Itachi
Itachi

Itachi played in a 600-player Pokémon TCG Pocket tournament, where he unfortunately lost on the bubble. Better luck next time, because the grind never ends.

Itachi and Lynnee also faced off against each other in a Hearthstone THL Pro series match where Itachi was able to take the W!

Marcolapolis
Marcolapolis

Marcolapolis had a slower Star Wars: Unlimited month due to work commitments, but was able to take 2nd place in his local Jump to Lightspeed Sealed League!

FlyingKraken
FlyingKraken

FlyingKraken has been focusing on getting better at Pokémon VGC and even attended the Pokémon Atlanta Regional during April.

Kraken has also returned to competitive Hearthstone, with a top 200 ladder finish in April and looking to finish even higher for Master Tour Playoff Qualifications in the future.

Nejiboston
Nejiboston

Nejiboston had a busy April. He runs the AFG Pokémon Draft League which is currently in Season 7 with 48 players separated into 3 divisions. He has been doing incredibly with running the league season over season!

He has also returned to competitive Hearthstone, going 8-0 in the swiss portion of the open qualifier and just barely missing out in the single elimination portion of the qualifier. However, that wasn't going to stop him and he qualified for the Master Tour Playoffs via ladder, finishing 61st on the Americas server for April.

RonMexico
RonMexico

RonMexico had some rough games in the Hearthstone Masters Tour Open Qualifer, ending at 5-3 in the swiss portion of the event. However, Ron also was able to qualify for the Masters Tour Playoffs via a ladder finish, finishing 72nd on the Americas server for April, just inside the needed ranks to qualify!

Alex (Lexicon

Alex (Lexicon) competed in the Pokémon Atlanta Regionals going 4-3. After the Atlanta Regionals, Alex spent a lot of time streaming and prepping for the new ruleset, Regulation I, to get ready for the Milwaukee Regionals in May.

CurlyWurdy

CurlyWurdy did a very successful fundraising campaign during her streams for Gamers Outreach, hitting her goal.

Curly also played in the Hearthstone open qualifier, going 6-2 and missing the top 16 by one match.

Siimba
Siimba

Siimba had a busy month! He has started putting together a cards and collectibles business. It is currently a consignment case at a game store in Kansas City but he's looking into getting an LLC and an online store front.

He spent a lot of time in April prepping for the upcoming May Disney Lorcana Store Championships.

Siimba got more of the board game his company created in stock and is working on a Kickstarter for a new tabletop card game that will be launching in May or June.

Azalea had a busy league month, with heavy focuses on multiple Pokémon Draft Leagues as well as Hearthstone's THL.

He is currently entering the playoffs for a mono-type Pokémon league that has been going really well!

CEO and Founder dragonrider attended the Star Wars: Unlimited Sector Qualifier in Denver at the beginning of April, focusing on playing sealed side events throughout the weekend and got to meet Corey from Fantasy Flight Games!

She also accepted and started a role as Brand Manager for World of Wildhearts LLC, an Indie game company making board games and a card game. Her focus will be creating and fostering the Ambassador Program for the company and specifically the card game.

There was a lot happening in April, and May doesn't seem like it's going to slow down. Thank you so much for reading our update and good luck in your games, go out there and #RuleTheRoost!
