Welcome to our AFG Weekly article series. A bit of a busy week for our team outside of Hearthstone so it’s going to be a short one!
Be sure to check out the team’s card review for Onyxia’s Lair here and to cheer on Nejiboston at the Masters Tour this weekend!
Every week I’ll be catching up with players from our team to bring you some info and tips from our players! We are looking to do a reader replay review each week as well. If you’d like a chance to have your replay reviewed by our team please direct message us a link to your replay on twitter @AFlightGaming.
The Team
BitBeaker has been trying various new builds of “Deathrattle Priest, Dragon Priest, Rush Warrior, Quest Hunter, the list goes on. It’s been fun but [he hasn’t] landed on anything [he’s] impressed with.” With the Masters Tour this weekend, he wants to remind you all to take screenshots/replays of your games in competitive environmennts!
I have been also happily testing new builds of decks and have been particularly enjoying Quest Hunter/Rogue’s new builds! The mini-set adding consistency to these already strong decks and they’ve been a blast to get to play. I crafted the Hunter Quest first thing back in Stormwind and I’m happily hero powering folks to death now! As we near the end of the month, I want to remind you all that ladder grinding is not just about jamming games. If you’re trying for a finish you need to pace yourself. Give focus and energy to your games. Take breaks when you tilt or catch yourself misplaying. Take breaks at regular intervals to hydrate, stretch your legs and eat something. Chess players have been proven to burn insane amounts of calories during tournaments, and it’s the same principle here. You may not realize just how much energy your brain is burning while you’re toiling away at the ladder!
Weekly Question
This week, I asked everyone what are your 3 favorite cards from Onyxia’s Lair to play?
BitBeaker: I don’t think I have 3 favorites. Honestly I’m not blown away by the mini set but my feelings may change post rotation.
basedinc: I have been loving SI:7 Smuggler, Furious Howl and Raid Boss Onyxia. Having another threat in Quest Rogue is a ton of fun especially because sometimes the random rolls change the entire game. Furious Howl is such a powerful card draw effect and playing tons of cards is always a blast. Onyxia feels very powerful and it’s nice to see the Immune keyword coming back in a strong way with this card.
See you next week! Remember the plan. Biggest minion, all face.
