With the release of Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, a fire was lit behind the scenes at AFG! A lot of us were really enjoying the new game and several of us expressed interest in Pokémon's official format VGC!
If you don't know much about VGC, here's the quick rundown. You bring 6 unique Pokémon holding 6 unique items to a match and pick 4 of them each game for a best of 3 match. It is played in the Double Battle (2v2) format. Pretty simple to start, and incredibly difficult to master like all great games!
The hook was in deep and we decided it was time to expand our brand past just card games. We are so excited to start our journey on building our very own Pokémon community. We hope to foster a fun cooperative community where you can engage with our team to trade, battle and enjoy the wonderful world of Pokémon.
We are very early in the process but keep an eye out for announcements to come and join the Discord to be here for it all! First community event will be a very relaxed VGC Series 2 tournament on Pokémon Showdown taking place on Sunday February 26th beginning at 1 PM EDT/10 AM PDT. We will be helping provide teams to anyone wishing to participate and not wanting to build their own team.
